Is it not possible, like I did with a V6 Xantia, to source an unlocked known good ECU and try that?

Michel There’s little point trying that option now that my ECU has been checked but there also seems a lack of cheap spare parts specifically for the Activa.

I’m probably going to look at Llamba sensor next but I would have thought I’d have had a confident report from either of the garages that it’s been to and also I would have thought a dash warning light / eml on indication.

Mrs is starting to question my sanity

I think it is fair to say that everybody who has/runs a Citroen has a certain lack of sanity!

Skull... NEVER, EVER trust the timing hole in the crank pulley on an Activa!!! They are NOT accurate on a used pulley...

Being a dual-mass the outer annulus - where the timing hole is - moves relative to the inner annulus over time...

I used to have a solid pulley from a Pug 205 I used for timing purposes...
Well after finally relenting I have bought a solid pulley (couldn't find one anywhere and also appealed on other sites).

The difference between the two is about 25 degrees and comparing the two, looks to have been running too advanced.

Pulley slipped approx 25 degrees

Hoping to get it all back together tomorrow and see how the engine sounds ...

I'm guessing I've been lucky not to damage the engine and hoping to get my boost back .....
